Book #2 in the Brook Street series. Admittingly, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book
Thief, but I still enjoyed
Fortune Hunter, nonetheless. I gobbled it up in only a few hours.
Julian Parker, cousin of the Benjamin Parker from the first book, has arrived back in London after living in America for the last 10 years. His father's and grandfather's scandalous reputations have ruined his side of the family. Julian arrives in London hoping to secure himself a rich wife, but what he ends up finding is Oscar Woodhaven, a wealthy, sweet man who helps Julian any way he can.
Julian must decide what he really wants his future to contain. I loved how he struggled with himself toward the end, and I loved the difference between him and Oscar. Oscar was short, and cute, and absolutely sweet, and I was aware how easy it would be to hurt him, so I kind of wanted to deck Julian at one point.
The characters for the last book of the Brook Street series
Rogues had a small part in this book. I'm interested in their story, and the character of Linus Radcliffe definitely intrigues me. I can't wait to read it.
I was provided a galley of this from NetGalley. This didn't affect my opinions.
